It follows the methodology as it changed: from questioning numerical reduction, through repeated analysis and pattern recognition, to longitudinal research, prospective observation and the emerging questions now being explored through Human Futurology.
This is not presented as a story of inevitable discovery. It is the record of an evolving research proposition, including the questions, observations and methodological changes that shaped it.
How a simple question about numerology sparked the Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint.
Chris Styles’ dissatisfaction with conventional numerology became the starting point for the Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint.
Some ideas begin with an answer. Others begin with a question that refuses to go away.
For Chris Styles, the Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint did not begin with a grand theory, a commercial ambition or a desire to reinvent numerology.
It began with discomfort. Chris had become increasingly interested in whether ancient numerical systems might contain more intelligence than modern interpretations were extracting from them. But the deeper he looked, the more one question kept returning:
If there is meaningful intelligence here, why are we interrogating it so simplistically?
That question would eventually change almost everything.
The Problem Was Not the Numbers
Chris did not initially reject numerology. Quite the opposite. Something about it captured his attention immediately.
He was fascinated by the proposition that numerical structures linked with birth dates, names and life cycles might contain information about human experience.
But the way those numbers were being interpreted troubled him. Traditional numerology generally reduces calculations into a relatively small collection of core numbers and archetypes.
For Chris, that created a methodological problem. Consider four people born on:
1 | 10 | 19 | 28
Traditional reduction ultimately takes all four numbers back to 1.
10 becomes 1. 19 becomes 1. 28 becomes 1.
At one level, Chris could see the usefulness of that classification. But as someone trained to think analytically, another question immediately appeared:
What information might be lost through that reduction?
Because one is not ten. Ten is not nineteen. Nineteen is not twenty-eight. They may eventually reduce to the same number, but they do not arrive there through the same numerical architecture.
Chris began wondering whether the information being discarded might matter. That apparently simple question became the first crack in the conventional model.
The Numerical Bucket Problem
Chris began describing the conventional approach as placing people into numerical buckets. A person might be categorised as a 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9. Certain characteristics would then be associated with that number.
For Chris, that could provide interesting high-level information. But it did not go nearly far enough. He compares it to describing someone by saying:
- They are male.
- They are six feet tall.
- They have a particular personality type.
All of those things may be true. But none comes remotely close to describing the full complexity of the individual.
Chris wanted to know whether numerical analysis could move beyond those broad classifications.
- Could it become more individual?
- More interconnected?
- More longitudinal?
- And ultimately: more strategically useful?
Curiosity Became the Research Method
Chris’s response was not to search for another numerology teacher. He did almost the opposite. He became intensely curious about what might become visible if the existing assumptions were removed.
Rather than asking: What does this number mean?
He began asking: How does this number relate to everything around it?
Rather than looking at isolated calculations, he began integrating multiple numerical data points. Rather than treating numbers as static labels, he began examining how they appeared across time. Rather than concentrating only on individual values, he began looking for:
Relationships, sequences, recurrence, convergence and changes in context.
Slowly, the research moved away from individual numerological calculations and toward something resembling an interconnected system.
Chris began calling it an ecosystem. Eventually, that ecosystem became the foundation of the Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint.
What If a Human Life Has Architecture?
Behind all of this sat a much larger philosophical question.
Chris had spent much of his life trying to understand why particular experiences occurred when they did.
- Why this relationship?
- Why this opportunity?
- Why this crisis?
- Why this period of acceleration?
- Why this period of pressure?
Rather than assuming that every experience was simply random, he began asking whether there might be underlying structure. Not because he had proved that there was. But because he believed the question itself was worth investigating. His premise was simple: Mathematics describes extraordinary amounts of the universe around us.
If human beings are part of that universe, could aspects of human experience also contain detectable numerical structure? That question became one of the intellectual foundations of the research. Chris was not trying to prove that life was predetermined.
He was asking whether pattern, timing and experience might sometimes be more structured than they first appear. Rather than assuming that every experience was simply random, he began asking whether there might be underlying structure.
Not because he had proved that there was. But because he believed the question itself was worth investigating. His premise was simple: Mathematics describes extraordinary amounts of the universe around us.
If human beings are part of that universe, could aspects of human experience also contain detectable numerical structure?
That question became one of the intellectual foundations of the research. Chris was not trying to prove that life was predetermined.
He was asking whether pattern, timing and experience might sometimes be more structured than they first appear.
From Description to Architecture
The more frameworks Chris built, the less interested he became in using numbers merely to describe personality.
He wanted to know whether they could reveal something closer to architecture.
- Not: Who are you?
- But: How do the different parts of your life appear to interact?
- Not: What does this number mean?
- But: What happens when this number combines with that number, inside this sequence, during this period of time?
- And eventually: Have I seen this structure before?
Since 2017, Chris has built thousands of these numerical frameworks. Over time, he began identifying patterns that appeared repeatedly across different people and different life circumstances.
One sequence might repeatedly appear around periods of emotional difficulty. Another might coincide with changes involving leadership, money, security or relationships. The important development was not simply that Chris saw individual numbers repeating.
It was that combinations began behaving like recurring structures. That moved the research into very different territory.
The First Real Departure
This was the point at which Chris believes his work began separating fundamentally from conventional numerology.
Numerology had become the starting material. It was no longer the finished methodology.
The question had changed from: What does my numerology tell me?
to: What becomes visible when multiple numerical structures are integrated and examined across time?
That question would eventually lead to the Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint. But even then, the methodology was far from finished. It entered what Chris now describes as an extended test-and-learn phase. He needed people willing to open their lives to scrutiny. He needed historical information. He needed honest feedback. He needed to compare what the framework appeared to indicate with what individuals had actually experienced. And critically, he needed to keep changing the model when the evidence suggested that his interpretation was incomplete.
A Difficult Kind of Research
One of Chris’s early challenges was finding people willing to participate. This was not simply a technical dataset. The information concerned people’s lives.
- Relationships
- Career decisions.
- Emotional experiences.
- Periods of difficulty.
- Moments of significant personal consequence.
Testing the emerging framework therefore required something beyond access to numbers. It required trust.
Among the early participants were experienced executives and senior decision-makers who allowed Chris to construct and interpret their emerging mathematical frameworks.
Their reactions interested him.
Some told him that had the observations come from someone they did not know and trust, they would have struggled to believe how closely parts of the analysis appeared to reflect their experiences.
Chris does not regard those reactions as scientific validation. They were early exploratory cases. But they gave him something important: a reason to continue investigating.
The Question Became Bigger
Over time, the original question, “Why is numerology so simplistic?” became something much more ambitious. Chris was no longer asking whether numerology could be improved.
He was beginning to ask whether numerical information might provide another way of interrogating human experience itself.
- Could it reveal patterns?
- Could it reveal timing?
- Could it identify periods requiring greater awareness?
- Could recurring sequences carry strategic significance?
- Could those insights eventually support better decisions?
- And if they could, what exactly were they measuring?
These questions ultimately opened a completely new line of thought for Chris. We have become comfortable speaking about IQ. We subsequently expanded the conversation to include EQ. But Chris now believes there may be another dimension worth exploring. He calls it SQ — Spiritual Quotient.
- Not as an established scientific construct.
- Not as something the IMB has already proven.
- But as a research proposition.
If cognitive intelligence and emotional intelligence describe important aspects of how human beings function, Chris asks whether another layer of human architecture may remain poorly understood.
And whether numerical structure might provide one way of investigating it.
The Question Behind the Blueprint
The Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint did not begin because Chris Styles believed he had found the answer. It began because he could not stop asking the question.
- Why reduce complex numerical information when it could be preserved?
- Why study isolated numbers when relationships might matter?
- Why examine a person statically when life unfolds through time?
- Why assume randomness before investigating structure?
- Why restrict numerical analysis to description when it might have strategic application?
And perhaps most importantly: “What might become visible if we stopped asking numerology to tell us who someone is and started asking whether it could help us understand how the architecture of their life moves?
That question became the beginning of the Intelligent Mathematical Blueprint. Everything that followed came from trying to answer it.
